There has been some changes in the works at Eaton Swim School. Julie, Relle and Jane are welcoming another Eaton Swim Teacher Tanya to the team. Julie is planning on reducing her number of hours in the pool and sampling some novel spare time in practice for semi retirement!
Many of you will have already met Tanya. Tanya and her husband David will be purchasing the swim school and the house and will begin day to day management of the pool in January (Julie and Tanya foolishly settled on moving house over Christmas / New Year!!) Julie plans to continue to work at the school and the Eaton Learn To Swim method will continue to be taught in the pool.
Tanya "For some time I have admired Julie's teaching methods. Her program is outstanding and develops strong, confident swimmers with good technique. Julie and I are share a teaching philosophy - For children to learn they need to feel safe and secure. No one method will fit all children so we strive to manage our program inclusively, making changes to suit swimmers who are excelling or those who need an altered approach to master a new technique."
The program as you know it will remain unchanged. Julie will stay on at the school for some classes. From January Relle and Jane's classes will remain the same and Tanya will begin to teach some of Julie's students.
Tanya will begin teaching Mondays, Tuesday mornings and Thursday mornings.
"Well its finally time for some sort of semi-retirement. I have been extremely lucky in my life to have had the opportunity to work in our own Swim School teaching swimming to thousand of children and absolutely enjoying every moment.
To me swimming is one of the most important skills we need to teach our children and it should be taught correctly.
When we developed our Swim School we thought about what we would want if we were bringing our own children here and this is what we have strived for.
We have met so many wonderful people along the way and made many friends. I am thrilled to have Tanya and David taking over.
Tanya and I have been working together from July and I am confident that Peter and I are leaving Eatons Swim School with people who have the same love and passion for teaching swimming as we have had.
This is not goodbye but more a change of pace as I will continue to appear in the pool for some time."
Tanya has a teaching background; she is a qualified Austswim Teacher accredited in Swimming & Water Safety, Infant and Preschool Aquatics and has studied child development and early years teaching at a post graduate level.
Tanya is very passionate about Julie's swim school methods. She joined Eaton Swim School as a teacher and was quickly won over by the program, the parents and the wonderful students. Tanya is a passionate advocate of children's water safety. "Especially in Queensland where water is such a big part of our lifestyles every child should learn to swim"
Tanya "Julie has put a lot of thought into teaching foundation skills for swimming from babies through to stroke development for older children. Every activity we do in the pool has a teaching outcome (even when it looks like spectacular fun, the children are learning). The commitment to quality at Eaton Swim School will continue as a priority."
Tanya and her husband David have owned and managed Arana Hills Physiotherapy for 6 years where they deliver Physiotherapy, Exercise classes, Yoga and Psychology services to the Hills Community.
