If you are unable to attend a lesson please let us know by 8am for daytime classes and by 2pm for afternoons classes. If notification has been made a make up class will be available to use before the end of that season (Dec or May). If you do not notify us when you are unable to attend a lesson the class is forfeited and a make up will be unavailable for the missed class.
Make up classes may not be used as credit against future swimming classes. A maximum of four make up classes are available over a swimming term.
To access a list of available make up classes click on the make up link above.
Time slot privileges
Most classes now have a waiting list and there are some particularly sought after timeslots on the schedule. If you are unable to attend a class for a period of time (several weeks) you may continue to pay for that timeslot and arrange make-ups for the missed classes.
If you notify us that your child will not require swimming lessons for a period of time (eg you’d like to finish season a month earlier than our schedule) your timeslot will be made available to people on our waiting list. When you recommence swimming lessons if your original swim time has been utilized by another swimmer, you will be offered alternative times on the schedule.
Exclusions: There are several Health directives we follow to protect swimmers from contagious illnesses. In particular to note is the exclusion of children suffering from diarrhea. This exclusion is for two weeks as the condition can sometimes be a symptom of more serious contagious illnesses. If in doubt about whether or not you should bring your child to swimming please feel free to give me call.
Parking: The car park can often look full – looks in this case can be a bit deceiving, there are actually spaces for up to 10 cars. Please feel free to park around the ring drive way on the grass or in front of the big farm gate to the left of the house (we don’t use this gate for vehicle access). If the car park is genuinely full please park on the wide grass footpath out the front rather than on the road. Cars move very swiftly down Allen Road and parking on the footpath is safer getting your swimmers in and out of the car.
I’m in a baby class, when does my swimmer get in without me?
When your child turns 3 they can begin classes without you in the water.
What are our swimming terms?
We swim from September to December and January to May. We have three weeks off for Christmas and one week off at Easter. We close June, July and August for the winter.
We don't tend to use goggles until children turn 3 unless we think it will improve their swimming lessons. At 3 we introduce the idea of goggles as the swimmers technique begins to become a little more mature and we're teaching face down float and correct body position. We have plenty of goggles swimmers can borrow for lessons.
Each child swimming under 3 years who have not yet been fully toilet trained at home are required to swim with a swimming nappy - cloth or disposable is your choice.
Public Holidays - do we swim?
There is no swimming on public holidays. Enjoy a day with your children. You are not charged for public holidays.
What happens when it's raining?
Swimming in the rain, just swimming in the rain, what a wonderful feeling I''m happy again... (did you sing that?). We do swim on rainy days - the children often have the best fun swimming in the rain and let's face it, we're getting wet anyway. The only weather that keeps us out of the pool is a thunder storm (lightning and water not being a very safe combination). If classes are cancelled due to storm activity you are not charged for that lesson. If in doubt call me or use your discretion.
